The status of beach volleyball as a truly global sport will be on full display in the men’s tournament of next week’s Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Elite16 event in Montréal, Canada.

With the entry lists now released, the Beach Pro Tour is going to have, for the first time since its start, in 2022, an Elite16 tournament beginning with men’s teams from 12 different countries occupying the direct spots in the main draw.

The five-day day event that’s going to be held at the Notre Dame Island from July 26-30 will also have four continents represented in the main draw, with duos hailing from North America, South America, Europe and Asia to compete in Montréal.

Norway, the United States and Czechia occupy the top three main draw spots with reigning Olympic and world champion Anders Mol and Christian Sørum, Gstaad Elite16 winners Andy Benesh and Miles Partain and Uberlândia Elite16 champions Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner, respectively.

The winners of the Itapema Challenge, Brazilians Andre Loyola and George Wanderley are seeded fourth, ahead of Germans Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler, who took bronze at the Tepic Elite16, and Poles Michal Bryl and Bartosz Łosiak, who were third in Uberlândia.

Qatari Olympic medalists Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan are seventh, followed by Italian Olympians Adrian Carambula and Alex Ranghieri, who took bronze at the season-opening Doha Elite16, and Dutch Olympic medalists Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen.

**Beach Pro Tour Montréal Elite16 - Men's Entry List**

L'elenco dei Paesi che parteciperanno al main draw dell'Elite16 di Montréal potrebbe aumentare mercoledì, quando si terranno le qualificazioni e altri quattro duetti si guadagneranno la possibilità di lottare per il titolo. L'Australia, con Thomas Hodges/Zach Schubert, Chris McHugh/Paul Burnett e Mark Nicolaidis/Izac Carracher, l'Ucraina, con Sergiy Popov/Eduard Reznik, l'Austria, con Alexander Horst/Julian Hörl, e la Spagna, con Pablo Herrera/Adrián Gavira, sono le nazioni che non hanno ancora una rappresentanza nel main draw e che saranno in azione nelle qualificazioni in Canada.

Il sorteggio principale inizia giovedì, dopo la conclusione delle qualificazioni, e prevede quattro gironi con quattro squadre ciascuno. Le prime tre squadre di ogni pool parteciperanno ai gironi eliminatori, che prevedono gli ottavi di finale e i quarti di finale, sabato. Le semifinali e le partite per le medaglie si disputeranno domenica.
