The host country team is qualified automatically.
Each of the five continental confederations qualifies teams through the continental pathway, as follows:
Qualification System
- Europe (CEV) - 6 teams
- Asia (AVC) - 4 teams
- North, Central America and Caribbean (NORCECA) - 4 teams
- South America (CSV) - 3 teams
- Africa (CAVB) - 2 teams
In case the host country team secures a spot at the continental championship, the next highest-ranked team in that continental tournament would qualify for the U19 World Championship.
