Where will VNL 2023 be held?

Volleyball Nations League 2023 will be held in 12 different countries on four different continents.

The women’s Final Round will be hosted in Arlington, a city in the American state of Texas. Three-time VNL champions USA will host the women’s VNL Finals for the first time. The United States did, however, stage the 2019 men’s Finals in Chicago.

Gdansk will welcome the 2023 men’s Final Round bringing VNL’s climax event to Poland for the first time. Poland never won the competition, but made the podium three times, with silver in 2021 and bronze in 2019 and 2022.

When is VNL 2023?

The women’s VNL 2023 will start on May 30, 2023. The trophy and the medals will be handed to the winners on July 16, 2023 in Arlington.

The men’s VNL 2023 will last from June 6, 2023 through July 23, 2023, when the medal matches will take place in Gdansk.

Who will compete in VNL 2023?

As usual, VNL 2023 will feature 16 women’s and 16 men’s national teams, including two newcomers, the teams that won the Volleyball Challenger Cup in 2022 and earned a promotion to VNL 2023 – the women’s national team of Croatia and the men’s national team of Cuba.

What is the tournament format?

The tournament format will be the same as in 2022. The 16 teams in each gender will play 12 games each during the three competition weeks of the Preliminary Phase collecting wins and points towards the general Preliminary Phase standings. The Final Round hosts and the seven best placed teams among the remaining participants will qualify for the quarterfinals to be played over two competition days during the Finals week and to be followed by the two semifinals, the bronze medal match and the gold medal final.
