Poland and Croatia will be the first teams to take to the courts of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. The two teams will get Netherlands-Poland 2022 underway in the tournament opener, set to begin at 18:00 local time on Friday, September 23 in the Dutch city of Arnhem.

What could be an electrifying scoring race between the likes of Magdalena Stysiak and Samanta Fabris will be followed by the first match for the other World Championship co-hosts, the Netherlands. The Oranjes will entertain the home crowd with their game against Kenya at 20:00 local time, alson in Arnhem.
Matches in Pools A and B will continue on the second competition day with Belgium taking on Puerto Rico and Italy meeting Cameroon in Pool A, while Turkey play against Thailand and the Dominican Republic meet Korea in Pool B.
That Saturday’s programme in Arnhem will also include the first games in Pool C, namely USA vs. Kazakhstan, and in Pool D, Brazil vs. Czechia. All remaining teams will open their campaigns on Sunday. Germany will face Bulgaria and defending champions Serbia will go against Canada in Pool C, while the Pool D schedule offers matches between China and Argentina and between Japan and Colombia.
The Pool B teams will then travel to Poland to resume their battles in Gdansk on September 27. The Pool C teams, on the other hand, will play their second-leg games on September 26 in Arnhem before taking the flight to Lodz for the rest of the first phase and resuming their campaigns on September 29.
What could be the highlight of the first stage of the competition - a Pool C game between world champs Serbia and Olympic champs USA - will take place on October 1 at 19:00 in Lodz.
Pools A and D, meanwhile, will remain in Arnhem, where the first phase of the tournament will be completed on October 2.
The best four teams of each pool will then advance to the second pool stage of the World Championship to be played from October 4 through 9 in Rotterdam and Lodz.
Gliwice in Poland and Apeldoorn in the Netherlands will host two quarterfinals each on October 11, and one semifinal each on October 12 and 13, respectively, before the best four teams return to Arnhem for the bronze medal game at 16:00 and the gold medal final at 20:00 local time, on Saturday, October 15, when the new world champions will emerge.
