Mol, A./Sørum, C. (NOR) vs. Cottafava/Nicolai (ITA) - Semifinals #6524244

Cottafava and Nicolai stunned Olympic champions Mol and Sørum in the semifinals

The two other teams that made it to the podium at the Am Rothenbaum Stadium on Sunday, gold medalists David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig and bronze medalists Anders Mol and Christian Sørum solidified their spots at the top of the rankings. While the Swedish are second with 7,720 points, the Norwegians continue solid at the top, with 9,300.

Two other teams situated near the top of the rankings were also able to move up with their results in Hamburg – fifth-placed Americans Andy Benesh and Miles Partain, who were fifth and are now tied for third with Qataris Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan at 6,740 points, and fourth-placed Brazilians Andre Loyola and George Wanderley, who went from sixth to fifth with 6,660 points.

From the Hamburg women’s medalists, Germans Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann were certainly the ones that benefited the most from their podium appearance at home. The two entered the event ranked 25th and have gained seven spots, going to 18th, with the 1,000 points they earned, elevating their total to 4,980.

Gold medalists Eduarda ‘Duda’ Lisboa and Ana Patrícia Ramos and silver medalists Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss continue where they were – the Brazilians are first, now with 8,900 points, while the Americans remain in third place, with 7,280.
